Exceptional design, greater savings and flexibility: The new thePrema DALI presence detector from ThebenHTS

(Haigerloch, 11 March 2016) ThebenHTS have once again reduced the energy consumption of the multiple award-winning thePrema premium presence detector down to under 0.1 watts. A new version of thePrema S now offers a DALI interface for simple integration into building automation.

With all ThebenHTS thePrema presence detectors (except for thePrema KNX), the already low standby power consumption can be reduced to less than 0.1 watts, thanks to a new switch-mode power supply. The DALI version of thePrema S broadens the presence detector's range of functions, making its integration into modern building automation solutions possible. All thePrema presence detectors continue to offer a square 360° detection area, which prevents "blind spots" or overlaps in the room and reduces the number of presence detectors required, as well as the costs incurred.

Complete presence detector programme with two performance versions

The thePrema presence detectors from ThebenHTS are available in two performance variants: thePrema S Standard presence detectors are ideally suited to individual offices, open-plan offices with axle design and corridors with natural daylight and sophisticated light measurement. The thePrema P presence detectors from the performance range offer an even greater scope of functions. They have a detection area of up to 100 m² and three independent mixed light measurements: An advantage they fully exploit especially in areas with lots of daylight such as entrance halls. The Performance series is especially suitable for larger interior areas such as open-plan offices, conference rooms and classrooms, as well as rooms with higher ceilings such as warehouses and sports halls. Both performance versions are fitted with a high-performance relay with tungsten pre-contact for switching high switch-on current levels in LED loads. The product range includes economical slave versions for lighting and presence switching, as well as KNX presence detectors and a DALI variety (thePrema S) for simple integration into building automation.

All thePrema presence detectors can be installed as needed; surface-mounted, flush-mounted or in ceilings. A wide range of powerful functions ensure simple, flexible installation and operation: With the teach-in function users, even without specialist knowledge, can quickly and easily define the lux values at which the detector should switch on. The presence detector automatically detects whether a push button or switch is connected. This simplifies installation and avoids setting errors. The integrated room monitoring registers even the smallest movements in large buildings: so the Facility Management always knows which rooms are still being worked in. The presence relay can be used with different operating modes. Presence channel H and light channel A can be selected, while the light relay can be deactivated if desired. This makes switching quieter.

The energy-saving behaviour of the presence detector can be adjusted very easily with the new "eco plus" function. The short-term presence function detects when someone is in the room only briefly and switches the light off after only two minutes instead of the usual programmed time delay of 25 minutes. With the self-learning time delay the presence detector adapts to the behaviour of the user: When there is frequent movement, the time delay is shortened. If only a little movement is detected, the time delay is extended to max. 20 minutes - a clear advantage in terms of energy-saving.
