Developed for LED lamps: The new Theben ELPA 6 plus, staircase light timer switch
With the new ELPA 6 plus, Theben presents a staircase light timer switch with a warning prior to switching off the LED lamp. Thanks to an extended single pulse, a reliable warning prior to switching off the lighting is also visible for LEDs.
According to DIN 18015-2, the feature for automatically switching off lighting systems in stairwells of multi-family dwellings must have a warning function to prevent sudden darkness. While very short pulses are used to switch off energy-saving bulbs in order to extend bulb life, these pulses are not particularly suitable for LED lamps: the off-pulse is buffered somewhat by the ballast electronics. The result is that the warning prior to switching off the lighting is only poorly visible or not visible at all. In contrast, the new ELPA 6 plus staircase light timer switch from Theben is designed specifically for use of LED lamps with a warning feature prior to switching off.
