Tested technology further improved: Meteodata 140 GPS KNX weather station with anemometer

(Haigerloch 2012-11-21) The new Meteodata 140 GPS KNX weather station from Theben provides classic functions such as brightness, wind, temperature and rain measurement. The compact structure and transparent housing are both new: The background colour shows through the device and the weather station fits in perfectly with every facade.

Tried and tested technology

With the anemometer on the bottom, Theben makes use of a proven, reliable and robust technology, which has clear benefits: The anemometer registers the wind regardless of the wind direction and also measures wind speed reliably, even in snow and ice. The capacitive rain sensor is resistant to dirt and is therefore able to reliably measure rainfall. The configurable heating avoids confusing dew for rain: Awnings and skylights are safely and reliably controlled at all times. A 230 V power supply is only needed for heating the rain sensor. Otherwise, the bus voltage is sufficient and that means the Meteodata 140 GPS KNX weather station is extremely energy efficient.

Light sensors and sun position adjustment

The position of the sun is measured from three directions via three light sensors on the Meteodata 140 GPS KNX. Blinds and their louver positions can thus be variably controlled as required on three different facades. This is supported by the automatic sun position adjustment via azimuth and elevation: Blinds louvers or shutter/awning heights are thereby controlled according to the actual position of the sun in the sky. The temperature sensor is positioned externally on the housing and thus delivers accurate readings.

Quick to install 鈥 easy to set up

The base with integrated bus terminal and mains connection is installed first. Just attach the weather station 鈥 and you're ready to go. The weather station is quick to set up due to its factory preset universal and solar protection channels. The weather station not only receives the correct time via GPS but also accurate details of its location. The advantage: exact adjustment to the position of the sun with azimuth and elevation. In addition to the GPS version, Theben also produce a weather station without GPS reception.
