Elegant, flexible, easy to install: the new theLuxa motion detectors for energy efficient outdoor lighting control from Theben
(Haigerloch, 10 September 2013) Through to the middle of 2014 Theben AG will be gradually replacing the current product range of high-quality outdoor motion detectors with the new theLuxa product family. Alongside a unified, compact and discreet design, as well as the usual high detection quality and easy installation, the revised motion detectors now offer, among other things, a teach-in function so that the initial brightness can conveniently be adjusted directly on the device itself.
The design of the new theLuxa motion detector has been standardised throughout the range and can be discreetly blended in to any kind of building exterior. In our extensive product range you can find motion detectors for private use, e.g. in family homes, driveways or back and side entrances. Thanks to their 16 m range and different detection angeles of 150潞 (theLuxa S150), 180潞 (theLuxa S180) and 360潞 (theLuxa S360), these devices offer a broad spectrum of applications for energy efficient lighting control. The "creep under protection" feature detects movements below and directly behind the device and immediately switches the light on e.g. when house doors are opened. The Theben theLuxa S360 with its unique design offers in addition a swivel joint with which the detector can be flexibly installed on the wall or ceiling.
Efficient and reliable technology
Using the new teach-in function, users can easily and quickly determine when the motion detector is to come on without the need for any specialist knowledge: If the desired lighting conditions are present, you just need to activate the teach-in function and the current lux value is saved. All motion detectors offer protection class IP 55 and can be installed outdoors in next to no time: Plug-in base with large terminal area, clamps labelled from above, a blind terminal for the earth conductor, as well as additional support for a push terminal, allow for safe and speedy installation. The theLuxa motion detectors can also be mounted on a 60 mm flush-mount box. The settings can easily be adjusted on the bottom of the device using a screwdriver. Thanks to the swivelling sensor head, only the required areas will be accurately covered and unwanted activation of the device avoided. The pulse function allows the motion detectors to be fitted to staircase light time switches or KNX without expensive adjustments in electrical installations. Thanks to the test function, the motion detector can also be quickly and accurately aligned even in daylight. The zero cross switching extends the life of the light source, reduces costs and is environmentally friendly.
The sensor head of the Luxa S360 can be swivelled round and offers maximum freedom e.g. for installation in ceilings or roof projections. The corner installation bracket also allows the motion detectors to be installed on building corners so they can provide detection on two facades. Cover clips for additional limitation of detection area are included in delivery. The spacer frame is fitted between a plug-in base and detector. Cables can thus be led to the terminals from all four sides.
The new theLuxa motion detectors S150 and S180 are available for delivery as of now in black and white with comprehensive accessories such as corner brackets and spacer frames. The theLuxa S360 will be available from November onwards.
