Squaring the circle: The new thePrema presence detectors from ThebenHTS for convenient, energy-efficient light and air-conditioning control indoors
(Haigerloch, 10 September 2013) Theben AG presents the new thePrema presence detector product family, which will largely replace the previous presence detector range by 2015. While the new, flowing design has a strong visual emphasis, the square 360掳 detection area was maintained with high quality detection. The new thePrema presence detectors provide energy-efficient, presence-dependent lighting and air-conditioning control in, among other places, offices, schools, conference rooms, storage, sports and entrance halls.
The design recalls a droplet in the course of being formed: clear, round and flowing. With this unified family design thePrema presence detectors make an outstanding impression visually in interior rooms of all types. At the same time the square 360掳 detection area is preserved in all devices, which prevents the "blind spot" or overlaps in the room and reduces the number of presence detectors required including the costs incurred.
Two performance variants: Standard and Performance
thePrema Standard presence detectors are suitable, for example, for individual offices, open-plan offices with axle design and for corridors with strong incident daylight and sophisticated light measurement. The product range includes one and two-channel presence detectors for light and presence switching (thePrema S360-100, thePrema S360-101) and for integration in the KNX building control (thePrema S360 KNX). The thePrema S360 Slave is an inexpensive presence detector designed for easy extension of the detection range. A DALI variant will follow later. The thePrema presence detectors of the performance series (thePrema P360-101, thePrema P360 KNX and thePrema P360 Slave) offer higher functionality. They have a detection area of up to 100 m2 and three independent mixed light measurements: An advantage they fully exploit especially in areas with lots of daylight such as entrance halls. The Performance series is especially suitable for larger interior areas such as open-plan offices, conference rooms, classrooms as well as rooms with large installation heights such as storage and sports halls.
All thePrema presence detectors can be installed as needed surface-mounted, flush-mounted or in ceilings. A wide range of powerful functions ensure simple, flexible installation and operation: With the Teach-in function users, even without specialist knowledge, can quickly and easily define the lux values at which the detector should switch on. The presence detector automatically detects whether a push button or switch is connected. This simplifies installation and avoids configuration errors. The integrated room monitoring registers even the smallest movements in large buildings: so the Facility Management always knows the rooms where work is still being performed.
The energy-saving behaviour of the presence detector can be adjusted very easily with the new "eco plus" function. The short-term presence function "detects" when someone is in the room only briefly and switches the light off after only two minutes instead of the usual configured time delay of 24 minutes. And with the self-learning time delay the presence detector adapts to the behaviour of the user. When there is frequent movement, the time delay is shortened. If only a little movement is detected, the time delay extends to max. 20 minutes - a clear advantage with regards to energy-saving.
theSenda 鈥 the new, elegant remote controls
Both new remote controls, theSenda S and theSenda P, adopt the flowing, ergonomic design of thePrema presence detectors and sit especially well in the hand. Using the performance remote control theSenda P the installer can conveniently configure all parameters from the ground up - from the brightness threshold switch-on value to sensor sensitivity and the saving and calling up of two light scenes. theSenda uses the same protocol as the existing SendoPro remote control and is thus compatible with the previous ThebenHTS presence detectors. With theSenda S as standard remote control for end users, light scenes can be called up at the press of a button.
The new thePrema presence detectors will be available from October 2013 in the colours white, grey and in special colours at extra cost. The KNX variants of thePrema presence detectors as well as theSenda remote controls will be available from January 2014.
