SPHINX 104-360/2 DIMplus presence detector: Constant light control for the classroom
(Haigerloch 2012-10-05) The SPHINX 104-360/2 DIMplus presence detector from Theben provides students and teachers with optimum lighting conditions in the classroom: The first channel can be used to dim the lighting in the room via 1 to 10 V constant light control. The second channel can control a separate strip of lights or ventilation system.
Optimum lighting conditions: Constant light control
It's no longer a secret that presence-dependent lighting in classrooms and offices provide large potential savings in lighting costs and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. It's often underestimated how much the correct lighting can assist learning and working. Thanks to constant light control, the SPHINX 104-360/2 DIMplus presence detector provides optimum lighting conditions in the classrooms: It constantly adjusts the brightness level in the room to the prevailing daylight. The presence detector increases or reduces the artificial light according to the time of day and amount of daylight. The advantage: Constant and optimum lighting conditions can be achieved in a room via the steady, almost imperceptible adjustment of artificial light. That forms the basis for concentrated work and learning. The second channel can be used to provide presence-dependent control of either blackboard lighting or ventilation controls: Stuffy classrooms are a thing of the past.
In order to maintain the choice between automated and manual lighting control, the presence detector can also be operated using the two external inputs via push buttons or manual switches. This is sometimes refered to as Absence Detection. With a diameter of 24 m, the detection area of the SPHINX 104-360/2 DIMplus presence detector is extensive and it ensures reliable detection of all movement.
