The energy-efficient DIMAX universal dimmers from Theben: Now available for all dimmable energy saving lamps

Theben AG introduces two new universal dimmers: DIMAX 532 and DIMAX 534 have automatic load recognition for R, L and C loads up to 500 W (100 W energy saving lamps).

The new DIMAX 532 and DIMAX 534 dimmers from Theben are ideally suitable for all new lights such as dimmable energy saving lamps or 230 V lamps up to 100 W. As the energy saving lamps of different manufacturers have different dimming response, the DIMAX 532 and DIMAX 534 have two optimised energy saving lamp settings with individually adjustable minimum brightness. The switch-on brightness can also be set as required. Thanks to the memory function, the set values and light scenes can easily be recalled after a power cut.

The automatic load recognition for R, L and C loads allows the connection of various lights such as incandescent lamps and energy saving lamps 鈥 as well as consumers such as fans in wet rooms.

Both dimmers (1 module width) have a multi-voltage input of 8 to 230 V AC/DC and thereby permit actuation via low voltage, e. g. for intercoms. The dimmers are very energy efficient with an extremely low standby consumption of only 0.2 W. Their soft On and soft OFF switching also protects the connected lights and thereby increases their service life.

The DIMAX 534 device allows the choice of up to three light scenes that are called up via a separate input: The DIMAX 534 universal dimmer therefore has a central ON/OFF function. The dimming rate for light scene changes can be set as required from 1 second to 60 minutes. The comfort setting has a wake-up and snooze function where the light can slowly be dimmed up or down by holding down the push button 鈥 ideal for helping children to get to sleep or to wake them up gently in the morning.

Uniquely, the DIMAX 534 dimmer can also be used in combination with a motion detector, a presence detector or a time switch, e. g. for two-stage corridor lighting in hotels or hospitals. Beyond that, the dimmer can also be used as a retriggerable staircase light time switch in accordance with DIN 18015-2 and also has an extended function.
