Additions to the family: Theben PlanoCentro three-channel presence detectors for large offices and classrooms

(Haigerloch, 5 February 2013) With the PlanoCentro 201 and PlanoCentro 300, Theben enhances the PlanoCentro and PlanoCentro KNX with new, three-channel presence detectors. They also allow energy-efficient HVAC control as well presence-dependent control of a third light group and are especially suitable for large offices, hotel rooms or classrooms.

The Theben PlanoCentro 201 offers an additional presence channel for energy-efficient HVAC control of classrooms, seminar rooms, offices or hotel rooms, among others. If no one is detected in the room, the presence detector turns off the light and powers down the heating and ventilation control. The Theben PlanoCentro 300 has an additional light channel for presence-dependent control of a third light group, for example to light up a whiteboard in classrooms.

Lighting control is performed fully automatically or semi-automatically, depending on whether the priority is comfort or saving energy. The lighting can be manually switched at any time via a push button or switch. The presence detectors are designed for fluorescent light elements, compact light elements and halogen lamps as well as LEDs and are suitable for installation in suspended ceilings and flush/surface sockets. If the detection range of an individual presence detector is not sufficient, it can be enlarged with up to 10 inexpensive slave presence detectors.

Via the Master-Master parallel switching, several masters can be linked together to perform presence detection jointly. As each device has two separate brightness measurements, it can switch more than two light groups independently - an enormous advantage, especially in difficult lighting conditions. Light groups close to the window can often be switched off earlier than light groups in the interior, where there is significantly less daylight.

Plug terminals enable efficient wiring and simplify installation. Basic settings are made on the device directly. Parameters can be read and adjusted conveniently from the ground via SendoPro remote control. The integrated zero cross switching is easy on the relay contacts and increases the service life of the light elements used.
